Winter in Wales

Wales is such a beautiful place to be in winter. There's something about my homeland that nothing else can quite compare to. The whipping winds, the splattering rain, you really won't find anything else like it. It's probably going to sound so overly sentimental but you can just feel the history of the place.

A few years back I went out on an assignment to cover the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Llanarthne, Carmarthen. If you've never been, the place is simply spectacular. It's a hive of activity, with gardeners tending to every blade of grass - but at the same time you'll never find anywhere more peaceful. The land is home to a mixture of wild woodland, themed gardens and one big glasshouse.

I found these photos hidden away on my hard drive last week and thought I'd share a little glimpse of the Botanic Garden's beautiful views with you. If one thing can persuade you to visit, it has to be this watercolour painting scenery.
