BotW: Glam Glow mud mask samples

Super Bright Glamtastic try before you buy, £13, Glam Glow
What do you think Miley Cyrus, Michael Bublé and Natalie Portman have in common?

Other than being absolute superstars, they're all fans of Glam Glow mud!

I was introduced to these face masks back in December at a Marks and Sparks event in Cardiff and, although I haven't tried them yet, the sales girl who was talking about them was literally in love with Glam Glow. That's not even an overstatement either - she was so enthusiastic about these mud masks! And for good reason too, Glam Glow's products are seriously impressive.

Only thing is, it's a little bit pricey if you aren't totally sold on it yet - but the clever guys and girls at Glam Glow have already thought of that: they have a cute little try before you buy set of their Youthmud, Supermud and Brightmud treatments for just £13, and you get a discount code for your next purchase too.

*But* Latest in Beauty has gone one better - they put a sneaky little treat into their newsletter over the weekend, offering the chance to buy the sample set and get one free. All you have to do is enter REDCARPET at the checkout before 1 March. Bargain!

BotW: Lena Dunham's spotty Burberry blouse - as seen in Vogue!

Primark's spotty red shirt (right) is a dead ringer for Lena Dunham's Vogue cover version
Up until last week I was embarrassingly behind on the whole Girls thing. But, er, thankfully(?) a bout of nasty flu changed all that and I am now a full on Hannah Horvath devotee.

Of course, the first thing I did upon finishing my series binge watch was to pick up that Lena Dunham Vogue issue. But before I could even get to the main event inside, Lena's spotty Burberry Prorsum shirt caught my eye. It's a little bit gorgeous don't you think?

Now this wouldn't be a bargain of the week post if there wasn't a bargain involved so *drum roll* my actual favourite ever shop of the moment Primark is selling a super lush lookalike for just £10. Besides the Lena connection, this top is more than just a little bit special for the bargain basement superstore: just look at that high fashion collar and boxy sleeves, you wouldn't think it was going for a tenner!

Midweek treat: this high street hero of a backpack

Black formal zip front backpack, £19.99, New Look
I keep seeing this backpack and wondering which kidney I'm going to have to sell to be able to afford it. But guess what? It's only from New Look! It's so unbelievably chic for a high street buy and only costs £19.99 - I'm really surprised the fash pack aren't making more of a fuss about it.

The best thing about this little treat though is that it's an online exclusive, meaning you don't have to brave any horrible weather to add this new accessory to your wardrobe.

BotW: Exclusive Emu Australia discount code!

Ahh, Valentine's week. Because let's face it, it's not just a day anymore. There are hearts scattered around for days on end, and couples are flapping around, trying to buy something that shows their other half how much they are loved - even though it's just been Christmas and you've completely run out ideas.

Anyway, regardless of your relationship status this year, I'm sure nobody will be turning down this brilliant offer from Emu: the code below gives you 20% off anything on emuaustralia.com

After all, your toes could probably do with a little love too.

Winter in Wales

Wales is such a beautiful place to be in winter. There's something about my homeland that nothing else can quite compare to. The whipping winds, the splattering rain, you really won't find anything else like it. It's probably going to sound so overly sentimental but you can just feel the history of the place.

Midweek treat: a(nother) makeup case for the obsessively organised

Jonathan Adler cosmetic case, £42.27, Nordstrom
Hi, my name is Ruth and I am - apparently - obsessed with organising my make up (see this post from October...).

For a girl who still regards Vaseline as a perfectly acceptable (and delightfully cheap) alternative to lip gloss, I am surprisingly crazy about sorting out my little make up bag. At the moment, I'm using a clear, flat PVC travel case from Superdrug to cart around my day to day stuff. But after an unfortunate BB cream explosion, the whole thing is looking a little bit grim.

After a quick search for a new makeup bag, I found this Jonathan Adler beauty on Nordstrom. I think it's safe to say we all need one of these in our handbags, ladies. There are slots for everything, a little mirror  for touch-ups on the go, and it's wipe clean - just in case (erk!) there are any more little beauty mishaps.

BotW: Celine style paint skirt, £8 at Primark

Céline was all over the hand-painted/brush stroke look for their SS14 ready to wear collection. And while the rest of the fashion world looked on eagerly at Phoebe Philo's departure from minimalism and classic tailoring, our faithful bargain fashion friends at Primark were deciding what gorgeous look they could pay homage to this season.

Although the skirt does come with a matching boxy top (a la the Céline runway look), that's just a little bit too 80s for my liking. But team it with a crisp white tee and some chunky shoes, and this is going to be all you need to stay right on trend this Spring!
