The first shoes I fell in love with...

I'm not really a shoe person.

I'm typing this while sat in front of an open wardrobe which, if it could talk - or read - would now be screaming at me, "Really?! Really, you're not a shoe person?" To be honest, I just happen to own a lot of shoes, all of which I need. For living, and stuff. Ahem.

We all remember a pair of shoes that we just adored as a child. For some it might be a muddy green welly, for others it might be a shiny red pump. For me, it was a pair of soft white leather sandals.

All that remains of my favourite shoes: two bad photos and an everlasting sense of style
I don't know what it was about these shoes but I was totally and completely in love with them. They were perfect, pretty, little girl shoes, with a red flower embroidered on each toe. Teamed with a floral dress and cardigan (with a dog knitted on the pocket), they were my top summer ensemble. In fact, I loved them so much, that when I spotted these Swedish Hasbeens for H&M a few years back, I knew they would have a happy place in my wardrobe.

What were your favourite shoes as a little one? I'd love to hear!

Bargain of the week: Primark now available on Asos!

Have you heard the news? It's been a few weeks now so it hardly deserves a drum roll, but this has pretty much made my year so far as online shopping goes...

Yup, that's right, no more Saturday morning scrums for us savvy shoppers! Primark have put a limited range of some of the best bargains up on Asos for you to peruse. Just take this red dress, for example: a steal at £13 compared to a very similar £45 version from Motel - and, to be totally honest, I prefer the Primark print!

Motel Whispa skater dress, £45; Primark floral skater dress, £13, Asos
Or this sequin jacket: the one Made in Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh has been spotted wearing is £37.99 on Missguided but the Primark version is £22 - meaning you could get that and a t-shirt or two for the same price.

Seqtea sequin sleeve jacket, £37.99, Missguided; Primark sequin sleeve jacket, £22, Asos
P.S. For all you charming ladies, Bouton are offering a whopping 50% off their charms range to celebrate the festival season! All you have to do is enter festival0813 at the checkout.

Michael Kors and the Mumbles

I love my hometown. Sure, it's tiny with not a lot going on, but on sunny days like today it's really really hard to dislike anything about it.

This evening I went for a lovely little stroll down the Mumbles, a seaside town near Swansea city centre. If you've never been, you really should next time you're in the area. The quaint little shops and restaurants overlook Swansea Bay and provide the perfect gateway to my favourite place on earth: the Gower peninsula.

I picked up these Michael Kors sunglasses a few weeks ago in TK Maxx, after ruining a pair I had been rocking for about four years *sob*. They're kind of an oversized wayfarer shape with a cute little flick to the brow. I really didn't think they'd suit me at first but after being tempted in by the huge discount - £24.99 down from £119 rrp - I knew we had to be together.

Bargain of the week: Urban Decay eyeshadow palette lookalike at MUA

Undress me too eye palette, £4, MUA at Superdrug
Word on the street is - well, first of all the "word" on "the street" is that I'm so not cool enough, or 90s enough to use that phrase, but go with me on this one.

Ahem, anyway, big beauty news! This 12 shade eyeshadow palette from MUA is, according to several beauty girls in the know, an absolute dead ringer for Urban Decay's Naked 2 eyeshadow palette - but with one hefty difference. The MUA palette is a whopping £32 cheaper than it's UD counterpart, making this one beauty bargain you really can't afford to miss.
