Adventure inspiration: Geneva, Switzerland

After a difficult end to 2012, I decided to start doing more to make myself happier and I hope that will be reflected in this blog too. Things are going to change slightly, but for the better. Expect more lifestyle posts, mostly on travel and other little adventures that I know you'll love as much as I do - starting with a micro trip I took to Switzerland at the start of this week.

I'm not one for flying, I get restless from being crammed into such a tiny seat. I mean really, I'm 5ft4 and I don't have enough legroom, I pity anyone over 6ft. But the flight to Geneva was spectacular to say the least. There was not a cloud in the sky as we glided over Europe. After travelling over English stately homes and intricate rows of housing, we said a quick hello to the white cliffs of Dover and sped off over the English Channel.

After a little doze, I woke up to spot the Île de la Cité and the Île Saint-Louis in Paris. The city soon changed to countryside though and then we met the glorious Alps. The mountains rose around the plane, dotted with snowy peaks and shrouded in the warm haze of sunset. It's an image I'm sure I'll never forget. I wanted to reach out and trail my fingers through the pink mist, it was simply incredible.
Forty-eight very busy hours in Geneva were totally worth it, just for the 110 minutes I had my nose pressed to that plane window.
