We've all seen the jubilee tat stacked high on the supermarket shelves for the last few weeks (although, don't judge, I will admit to being slightly tempted by these garden gnomes!). But this special occasion should really be about celebrating the best of British design and culture - and that's where Silken Favours comes in.
British through and through, Silken Favours prints are designed by Vicki Murdoch, a former model who won The Face of 1998 with Storm Agency. Vicki later enrolled at Chelsea Art School, specialising in textile design - she had a first class honours for her degree piece, a 1960s caravan filled with cat prints (so kitsch, I want one!).
Her career kicked off when she designed a bespoke scarf for her parents covered in drawings of the birds that would fly into the garden of their Aberdeen home - and Silken Favours was born.

Last summer, Vicki's range of scarfs and cushions were picked up by Liberty London as part of their best of British open call. Vicki now designs all of her prints in a Hackney studio, and everything is manufactured in Sussex. How much more British could you get?!

To celebrate the jubilee, Vicki has designed a gorgeous scarf featuring her Majesty's favourite pooch! (Liberty, £150). I am absolutely obsessed with corgis, having grown up with a lovely little grumpy corgi/Yorkshire terrier cross, so this scarf is my dream jubilee accessory (if there is such a thing). And, as an added bonus, this timeless piece certainly won't go out of style once the weekend's over.
