Who to watch at London Fashion Week S/S12: Day 2, 17/09/11

We've moved onto day two of our ones to watch at London Fashion Week. Take a look at this guide for designers guaranteed to put on a show for S/S12. Watch the live streams, follow the tweets - do whatever you can to make sure you don't miss these essential shows.
The look: I've written before about my rocky relationship with House of Holland designs - sure, Holland's Debenhams collection provides great separates (albeit for a younger audience) but his runway inspirations are always a bit too out there for me: grannies and bingo? Really? But my opinions are worth naught when it comes to the selling power of Holland's work. Loved on the high street and by his celebrity friends and followers, Henry's designs are for the young, funny and fashionable.
What to expect: Holland's hynoptic pre-collection featured bright stripes and day of the dead insignia - a total opposite to the knitted blankets on the back of your Grandma's sofa - so it really would be difficult to guess where Henry is going to take his SS12 work. It's safe to say, however, that colourful, kitsch and cheeky will no doubt be on the cards.
Watch for: A show as full of surprises as the front row will be of celebrities.

Kate Middleton in that Issa dress
Issa London, 8pm (Watch online here)
The look: Issa London became the label on everyone's lips earlier this year when Kate Middleton wore that gorgeous blue dress in her engagement photographs, prompting a flurry of high street copies. Brazilian Daniella Helayel creates classic dresses which make women feel 'comfortable, confident and chic' which are adored the world over.
What to expect: The collection is said to go back to Helayel's Brazilian roots. It has to be said that how she manages to reconcile the traditionally bright and playful Rio look with classic Issa style (reminiscent of icons Audrey Hepburn and Wallace Simpson) will make for a very interesting display of design prowess indeed.
Watch for: A preview of the Duchess of Cambridge's Spring wardrobe.

Fashion Fringe, 8.45pm
Showcasing the best in new design talent, Fashion Fringe is back for its eighth year with Fyodor Golan, Heidi Leung and Nabil El-Nayal.

Fyodor Golan: International design duo Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman are fast becoming known for their high fashion design and McQueen-esque dresses. Their A/W11 collection rocked an elegant tribal theme in the Fashion Scout show prompting great things to be expected on the Fyodor Golan S/S12 runway.

Heidi Leung:  Heidi has worked not only worked with the likes of Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane but was also the designer behind one of the most talked about graduate collections at Central Saint Martins last year. Taking inspiration from the Luc Besson woman, the aptly named 'Joan' was designed for women with a tough exterior and a loving core.

Nabil El-Nayal: Nabil was born to be a designer: he made his first dress from his mother's net curtains as a child and went from strength, even winning the British Fashion Council MA scholarship. He has worked with high street favourite River Island and designed exclusive pieces for Harrods.
